ugly guitar

ugly guitar is an ugly guitar with a built in speaker. It plays sound stored on flash cards. A bunch of flash cards are attached to the guitar with velcro so that the sounds may be easily swapped while playing. The frets are connected together with resistors so when a string is pressed the Critter Board can determine which fret is used.

Three strings control playback speed, loop length, and loop start point. When multiple strings are held down, the frets also serve to connect the strings together, completly entangling any sense of control and making the ugly guitar nearly impossible to play, but also really fun. Here are three samples of the ugly guitar. Each clip uses a different flash card:
