Single String Flash Guitar

This instrument records and manipulates sound. Use it to collect sounds and play them back while controlling playback speed. In the same vein as our recorder machine, you can use several instruments to create layers of sound; trading sounds back and forth, evolving them in strange and unexpected ways.

The guitar records 12 different sounds, up to 5 minutes each, selected using the keypad. Sound can be recorded using the small mic, or using the 1/4" input jack. The string controls the playback speed over 2 octaves (from 1/2 speed, to 2x speed), and the knob controls the loop point of the sound. Powered by 4 AA batteries.
